Raduč Hill View Point

Raduč Hill is a stunning viewpoint in the Murter-Kornati region, and it is the highest hill on the island of Murter at 125m. The hilltop can be reached via a well-maintained gravel road.

At the summit, visitors can explore the remains of an old military complex consisting of ruins of military facilities built during the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. The military complex located on the Raduč hill above Murter consists of ruins of various military buildings and a 310-meter-long underground tunnel constructed in the early 1930s.

During the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the construction of this complex began in 1931. The complex included a command building, a scout tower, officers' quarters, a kitchen and warehouse, an armoury, barracks, sanitary facilities, and a tunnel system featuring three entrances. The tunnels were drilled into the living rock using dynamite and large hammers, and they ended with two coastal artillery battalions, a machine gun nest, a lookout, and a semicircular defence trench. All of this construction occurred in the 1930s during the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Near the tunnel, there is a natural cave. Adjacent to the cave are rocks that are suitable for climbing. The plateau on the hill offers excellent vantage points that provide great opportunities for photographing the Murter Sea, Kornati, the Murter Archipelago, Murter, and the entire surrounding area, all the way up to Velebit.

There are several ways to reach Raduč. The quickest way for sailors on anchorage is from an anchorage at Cigrada Bay to hike up a narrow, somewhat steep gravel road. Another option is to Hike from Slanica Beach or Podvrške Beach and walk up the neighbourhood road that turns into gravel, which would be slightly longer. The most extended but most beautiful way to get there is from Kosirina Beach. You can walk along the sea and up the hill. The walk takes about 2-3 hours and offers a breathtaking experience because the views of the Kornati National Park islands are simply stunning.
